🎧 An absolute banger to listen to
First up-Memorial day is here and for those that need a refresher, it is for mourning military personnel who have died while serving in the United States armed forces. So don't be a jackass and say a happy memorial day or think you're celebrating. Know the reason and honor the fallen.
Alright, going to hit you with the facts this week. Last week we fired off the anonymous rate survey, if you haven't filled it out start here. Also I F’d up and didn't have a rate but was able to catch it pretty quickly. So fill it out and you’ll get access to the whole list of rates. Hell, send me a pic of you sharing this with a podnuh and I’ll send a gift from the trenches (disclaimer-wont have a bow on it and it’ll probably be a hat)
The Cold Hard Facts
The average rate for all craft positions is $30.42
$28.80 for commercial vs $32.43 for industrial
Electrician and Welder were the highest average rates, right at about 34
Electrician also had the largest range, $16-$68…nuts
And the top rate was a welder making $125…yea buddy
The Captains Take
$11.88 is the average fast-food wage, and from the monkeys dancing around with bananas on the corner, I’ve even seen as high as $16 just in the south. The bottom 10% of craft rate is less than that….
Don't underestimate your skills. Listen I know experience/location is a big factor, especially for those just jumping in the trenches. But know your worth. You will get used and abused in this line of work. Technology is your friend in this day in age, I’ll even plug BoomNation because I know anyone in the bottom half can do better, not to mention find some per diem.
